My name is Glenn Heidenreich and I am running for Winnebago County Sheriff. I have spent my lifetime serving the people and I want to continue that service by becoming your Sheriff.
In 1979, I went into the Navy where I became a Navy SEAL and served my country. When I left the Navy, I went straight into the Winnebago County Sheriff's Department and served as a Corrections Officer. I, then, made my way up into patrol and became a Deputy. From there, I earned the position as Detective. I worked several homicides and worked in the Cold Case Squad with the Illinois State Police. I am currently a Sergeant with the Winnebago County Sheriff's department. I focus on Community Policing, Domestic Violence, Warrants & Extraditions, Impounds, and Civil Process. I am also the Sergeant of the SWAT Team and Facility Security Director. While working for Winnebago County, I also held the position of President of Kinnikinnick School District.
My goal is to better serve the people of Winnebago County while branching off of Sheriff Richard Meyers foundation.
